I would imagine it should have a remote. You may be able to access some basic functions from the box itself - probably off/on and channel changing, but I would imagine any menu functions (program list, setups etc etc) would need to be done through the remote.

Can you ask the previous owner if they have the remote? They may have forgot about it, although they may have lost it. Your next option would be a one for all remote - that may be able to be programmed for the box. However, if it is able to be programmed to the box, then some functions may not be available. If you have one already, then see if there is a code.

I would say that getting a replacement remote from Technika would not be an option - remotes can be pretty costly to replace. If that is the only option left, then I would suggest just buying a new freeview box altogether - you can pick them up for under 拢20 in places like Asda etc.I have bought a second hand Technika STB9001 freeview box should it have a remote control?
Freeview boxes have their own remote control and this would be what you would use to switch channels with.

Whether you should have received it or not with your purchase depends on what you were offered/what was expressed as included in the sale.

You will find that you can probably source replacement remotes on the internet if you bought the box without.
