Why does America bite it's own hand by allowing government control over everything?

We are the government. The gov. is us working together to accomplish more than one person can alone. Now I don't want some greedy business overcharging me %26amp; not allowing any competition so I can't find another place to buy my car insurance that I have to have by law. We are gouged by non-governemt workers who are at the top in their field. They usually do not work hard to get their they just cheat more.Why does America bite it's own hand by allowing government control over everything?

Simple answer: we get lazy.

Everybody wants to have everything done for them! We are too lazy as a country! If our fellow americans would put a little work in here %26amp; there we'd be much better off!!

This is a typical response by people who have experienced the benefits of living in a great society... it's a vicious cycle that repeats itself and has been the primamry reason for the downfall of every great civilization

your assumption is wrong and the right has been whining about this for decades. You want less government? Then tell your congressional rep to eliminate the eventual requirement of national ID cards that will soon become law. How else will we be able to deny illegal immigrants basic health care? Maybe we wouldn't need so much oversight if people weren't so selfish and greedy they will destroy the environment just to make a buck. Or swindle others in the name of profits.
How is lending someone money and asking them to be accountable for how that money is being spent exerting ';control over everything';? I call that sound business practice.





Remember, auto and finance execs came to the government and ASKED them for money. Voluntarily.
