Practice, practice, practice. Hand speed and control come from practicing.
I'm assuming you have a practice pad, just go through music all the time. There are drills you can do, but I'm assuming they can also be unique to the teacher, but you can practice various drumming patterns, etc. This one is for the drummers: How do I develope my hand speed and control?
Practicng your 5, 7 %26amp; 10 stroke rolls.
Watch your wrists and try to do them slowly at first. Then increase your speed or tempo slowly as you conquer them more. You want to do nice, even, balanced stroke rolls in your schop without slouching off or missing the beats.
Also do your ';Buzz rolls'; too. Those are killer and do wonders for your speed.
I'd also recommend getting a Metronome too for learning different ';BPMS'; - Beats Per Minute -
QUIKTIME makes great ones for $20 each.
This is very critical to a drummer as your job is to keep solid and good timing for the rest of the band.
