Can a router speed control be used with a variable speed hand drill?

I wouldn't. You already have variable speed in the switch. The speed control reduces the voltage, and I would think that's a bad idea for a drill. Hope this helps. Can a router speed control be used with a variable speed hand drill?
While any ';universal'; motor (One with brushes) can be slowed down by a speed control box, you have to be careful because many tools now have an electronic speed control system which will be damaged by low voltage. If you must do it, read your owners manual first. Can a router speed control be used with a variable speed hand drill?
sure if you want to burn up your drill. i dont think it would be worth trying
Use a GFI outlet if you're going to make this mistake.
