Effectively they did. They changed the rules of the Financial Services Authority so no one could properly oversee what the banks were doing and loaded it with Browns cronies so he could ensure it did exactly what he wanted it to do. Still going on. This new windfall tax that Darling is collecting on all the huge bonuses isn't actually paid by the banks or the bankers its paid by you. You bailed them out and that is the money they use to pay these bonuses. Anyone is pretty dumb to not realize this and if they vote for Labour or any of the other 2 main parties next time round they are asking for the same again. Vote any independent no matter who to put the double whammy on all these cheating, lying fat cats. It will improve your life style definitely. In 1997, didnt labour hand over financial control to the banks. giving them free rein to do whatever they?
Nigel Lawson - when he was chancellor for conservative - made such a disaster of finances (clever how he's sidestepped any blame) it led to the last recession which was far worse than this one, he was totally out of touch with the people and lowering interest rates made for a massive boom to be followed by a massive bust handing over power to the banks was precipitated by this event
No. They handed control of monetary policy (the setting of interest rates) to the the Bank of England Monetary Policy Committee, taking it out of the hands of the Chancellor, who until then had set interest rates for political gain, rather than for sound economic reasons.
Yeah, the Tories were kicking themselves because they hadn't thought of it!

It didn't take the Labour Party long to alienate their traditional electorate!
YEP!.... The thieves handed it all over to their fellow thieves, with little share deals and financial sweeteners. Parliament housed more criminals than our prisons.
