far from objective 3rd party. They are the 2nd biggest arms sales country in the world behind Russia. France hasn't really ever brokered a serious peace treaty. I remember their best diplomatic efforts ';The Treaty of Versailles'; basically setting the world stage for Hitlers rise to power. When Japan surrendered to us they did it on one of our finest warships and now look they are a strong ally.
Since France hasn't had any previous involvement, what makes you think they will want to take control of Iraq? France doesn't even like us, they take a lot from this country, but never give back. This sounds good. But we have to look at things realistically and this my friend, is not a realistic idea.
The french would pass out white flags to everyone and instruct them to wave them in the direction of their aggressors.


That would solve a whole lot...

When there was an arm embarge on Iraq - France was still selling to them. How short of memories we have about the root of much of what we still have occurring today! Besides that - google ';French Military Victories'; - click I feel lucky - that will show you why this is such a bad idea!
Good idea, but I doubt that France will accept. They didn't want to be involved at all to begin with.
